The Synagogue Council is the elected leadership team responsible for the overall direction, governance, and day-to-day wellbeing of Cockfosters & North Southgate Synagogue. Working closely with our Rabbinic couple and the United Synagogue, the Council helps ensure that CNSS remains a strong, vibrant, and welcoming Jewish community.
Honorary Officers
The Honorary Officers are the senior lay leaders of the synagogue, responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership, overseeing synagogue services, finances, staffing, and governance acting as the primary liaison with the United Synagogue and the Rabbinic team, and representing CNSS within the wider Jewish and civic community.

Council Members are elected from across the community to reflect its diversity and strengths. What the Synagogue Council Does
Together, the Synagogue Council is entrusted with ensuring strong and transparent governance, supporting the religious, educational, and social life of the community, responding to member needs across all ages and stages, and planning for the future, so that CNSS remains a source of continuity, belonging, and Jewish identity for generations to come.
