Our Rabbi

Rabbi Meir Shindler, a London native holds a First-Class Honours degree in Mechatronics Engineering from King’s College, London, where he was recognised with several awards. Before pursuing his rabbinic calling, he worked in Operational Research for the Export Credit Guarantee Department of Her Majesty’s Government.

His journey in Jewish education began with three years in yeshiva in Israel, followed by his time at the prestigious Jerusalem Kollel, where he earned his Semicha (Rabbinic qualification) under Rav Yitzchak Berkovits.

Rabbi Shindler started his full-time rabbinic career as the Associate Rabbi at Chigwell & Hainault Synagogue in conjunction with SEED, focusing on enhancing the engagement of young families. For five years, he served as the Senior Rabbi at Richmond Synagogue, where he founded and directed the Richmond Jewish Community Hub, an inclusive cultural and educational centre that brought innovative and creative Jewish engagement to the SW London community. He joined CNSS in 2021.

In his spare time, Rabbi Shindler enjoys exploring nature trails with binoculars in hand, seeking inspiration from the natural world and occasionally spotting a bird of prey.

Our Rebbetzen

Rebbetzen Rina Shindler, originally from New York, holds a BA in Psychology and an MSc in Clinical Sociology/Family Counseling from the University of North Texas. She also spent several years studying in seminary in Jerusalem, further deepening her Jewish education and spiritual foundation.

Rina brings a wealth of teaching experience and qualifications to her role at CNSS, and has a special interest in parenting, mindfulness, and spirituality, which she integrates into her work and community activities. She also serves as a Clinical Manager at Noa Girls, a charity supporting adolescent women from the religious Jewish community.

The Shindlers’ are proud parents of four delightful children.
